We tested out the Expressive English cards in our adult courses from Beginner through to Advanced, and we found them to be an interesting way of introducing and reviewing different grammar points. They were also great in private lessons.

Example game case study: Exprengo (1-4 players)

  1. Deal out 5 cards to each player and make a draw pile with the remaining cards.
  2. Take the top card from the draw pile and place it face up on the table. The first player must lay a card on this one.
  3. You can lay any card that has the same number or suit as the previous card.
  4. When you lay a card, make a sentence using the expression written on the top of the card.
  5. If you cannot lay a card, pick up a new one from the pile, and play continues on to the next player.
  6. The first player to lay all their cards is the winner.
